Tools / UTM link builder

Build a tagged campaign link.

Add UTM parameters to any URL so Google Analytics can tell you where a visitor came from. Fill in the fields and copy the result.

Your tagged link

Fill in a destination URL to build your link.

How to use this well

Source, medium and campaign are the three that matter. Term and content are optional and mostly used for paid search and A/B tests.

Keep your values lowercase and consistent. Analytics treats Newsletter and newsletter as two different sources, which is the most common way UTM data gets messy.

This runs entirely in your browser. The URL you type is never sent anywhere and nothing is stored.

Common questions

Do UTM parameters hurt my SEO?

Not if your site sets a canonical URL, which most content platforms do by default. The tagged link is for tracking a campaign, not for a page you want indexed.

What is the difference between source and medium?

Source is where the visitor came from, like a newsletter or a specific site. Medium is the type of channel, like email, social or cpc. Source answers who, medium answers how.

Is this data sent to Creaiter?

No. The whole tool is JavaScript running on your own machine. Nothing leaves the page.
