How to use this well

The card people see comes from Open Graph tags in your page's HTML, not from the page's visible title. If the two disagree, the tags win, and a stale og:title is a common reason a shared link looks wrong.

Networks cache these aggressively. If you fix a tag after sharing, the old card can persist for a long time, so it is worth checking before the first share rather than after.

Image sizing differs per network, and the common recommendation is 1200 by 630 pixels. A tall or small image gets cropped or dropped.

This runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you paste is sent anywhere or stored.

Common questions

Why does my shared link show the wrong title?

Almost always because og:title differs from what you expect, or the network cached an older version of the page. Check the tag first, then use the network's own debugging tool to refresh its cache.

Do I need different tags per network?

Usually not. Most networks read Open Graph tags. Twitter and X also read twitter: tags and fall back to Open Graph when those are absent.

Does a share image affect SEO?

Not directly. It affects whether someone clicks a shared link, which is a different and still useful thing.
