Tools / Keyword density checker

See what you actually repeated.

Paste your draft and a target term. You get the real counts: how often it appears, where, and which other words are dominating the page.

Paste some text to see what it repeats.

How to use this well

There is no ideal density and no target percentage here on purpose. Keyword density has not been a ranking factor in a long time, and tools that tell you to hit 1.5 percent are optimizing for a search engine that stopped existing.

What this is genuinely useful for is the opposite check: noticing that your target term appears twice in three thousand words, or that one phrase is repeated so often the writing has gone stiff.

The top-phrases list is often the more useful half. It shows what the page is actually about, which is not always what you intended it to be about.

This runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you paste is sent anywhere or stored.

Common questions

What keyword density should I aim for?

None. Write for the reader and check that your main term appears naturally in the title, the opening, and at least one heading. Density targets are a relic.

Can I be penalized for repeating a keyword?

Deliberate stuffing is against Google's guidelines. Normal repetition in a well-written page is not something to worry about.

Why show phrases and not just single words?

Because real search terms are usually phrases. A page can mention two words often and never once put them together in the order people actually search.
