Glossary / Unsubscribe rate

What is Unsubscribe rate?

Unsubscribe rate is the percentage of recipients who opt out after an email. A steady trickle is normal. A spike means something changed.

Every email loses a few subscribers. People change jobs, lose interest, or clean their inboxes. A small, steady unsubscribe rate is the cost of doing email and nothing to panic about.

Spikes are the signal. A jump after one send usually points to that email: wrong audience, too salesy, or too soon after the last one. Compare the spiking send against your normal ones.

Never hide the unsubscribe link. Making it hard to leave pushes people to the spam button instead, which damages your deliverability far more than a clean goodbye.

In Creaiter

Creaiter reports results per campaign, so an unusual send stands out before it becomes a trend.
