Glossary / Lead scoring

What is Lead scoring?

Lead scoring ranks potential customers by how likely they are to buy, based on who they are and what they do. It tells you who to call first.

Not every lead deserves the same attention. Lead scoring assigns points for fit, like industry and company size, and for behavior, like visiting your pricing page or opening every email.

A lead with high points gets a call today. A low scorer stays in a nurture sequence until they warm up. The score is a sorting tool, not a verdict.

Keep the model simple at first. Five signals you trust beat twenty you guess at. Review closed deals every quarter and adjust the points to match what actually predicted a sale.
