Glossary / Impressions
What is Impressions?
An impression is one showing of your content or ad. Impressions count appearances, not people, so one person can create many of them.
Every time your post, ad, or search listing appears on someone's screen, that is one impression. Scroll past it three times and you have generated three impressions.
This is where impressions and reach part company. Reach counts individual people. Impressions count appearances. Reporting impressions as if they were an audience size overstates how many people you touched, sometimes by a lot.
Impressions are most useful as a denominator. Divide clicks by impressions and you get click-through rate, which tells you whether the thing people saw was worth acting on.
In Creaiter
Creaiter's Search Console integration shows impressions and clicks per page, so you can spot listings that get seen but never clicked.
