Glossary / Email blast
What is Email blast?
An email blast is one message sent to your entire list at once. The name is honest about the problem: it treats every subscriber the same.
The blast is the oldest move in email marketing. Write one message, send it to everybody, hope it lands. It still has its place for real news that affects the whole list, like a closure or a price change.
The cost shows up in the numbers. Send an offer aimed at beginners to your longtime customers and they tune out. Enough irrelevant sends and people stop opening, or they unsubscribe, or worse, they mark it as spam.
The fix is not sending less. It is sending to the right slice. Even splitting a list in two, buyers and non-buyers, usually beats one blast to everyone.
