Glossary / A/B testing
What is A/B testing?
A/B testing compares two versions of the same thing, like a subject line or headline, to see which one performs better with real people.
Instead of guessing which headline works, you show version A to half your audience and version B to the other half. Then you measure which one gets more opens, clicks, or sales. The numbers decide, not opinions.
Small businesses use it most on email subject lines, landing page headlines, and ad copy. Change one thing at a time. If you change five things at once, you will not know which change made the difference.
You need enough people in each group for the result to mean anything. A test on 40 subscribers can flip on luck alone. Run the test until the gap is clear and repeatable.
