Glossary / Retargeting
What is Retargeting?
Retargeting shows ads to people who visited your site but left without buying. It works because they already know you.
Most visitors leave without buying. Retargeting follows up. A small piece of code notes their visit, and later your ad appears while they browse elsewhere or scroll social feeds.
It usually costs less than reaching strangers, because warm audiences click and convert more readily. The classic version is the product ad that follows an abandoned cart.
Cap how often your ads appear. An ad seen thirty times stops persuading and starts annoying. Rotate the message and exclude people who already bought.
