Glossary / Gated content

What is Gated content?

Gated content sits behind a form. A visitor gives an email address to get the guide, template, or report, and you gain a lead.

The trade has to feel fair. A checklist that saves someone an afternoon is worth an email address. A two-page brochure about your company is not, and asking for a phone number on top makes it worse.

Gating costs you reach. A gated guide will not rank, will not be linked to, and will not be shared. Gate the thing that produces leads, and leave the thing that produces reach open.

Ask for the least you need. Every extra field cuts the number of people who finish the form, and job title rarely earns its keep.

In Creaiter

Creaiter can draft the download itself and the email that follows, so the offer and the follow-up sound like the same company.
