Glossary / Call to action (CTA)
What is Call to action (CTA)?
A call to action is the line that tells people what to do next: buy, book, subscribe, download. Every page and email should have one clear CTA.
People rarely take the next step unless you name it. 'Book a free estimate' is a call to action. So is 'Start your trial' or 'Get the checklist'. Without one, even interested visitors drift away.
Good CTAs are specific and low-friction. 'Get the pricing guide' beats 'Submit'. Say what the person gets, not what your form does.
One primary CTA per page works best. When everything asks for a click, nothing gets one. Measure CTAs by click-through rate and by how many people finish the action.
