Integrations / Google Analytics integration

Ask what your content actually did, in plain language.

Creaiter connects to Google Analytics, reads your GA4 property, and reports on the pages you published through it. The numbers come from your own analytics, not from a Creaiter estimate.

Creaiter wrote this page about its own Google Analytics integration, and Creaiter is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google.

The gap in most content workflows is not writing. It is the week after publishing, when nobody opens Google Analytics because the report you want is four clicks and one confusing filter away from where you land.

Creaiter's Google Analytics integration pulls that report to you. Once you connect, Creaiter reads your GA4 property and can tell you how a specific published page performed without you assembling the view yourself.

One thing to be clear about immediately: this integration reads. It does not install tracking, create properties, or change your Google Analytics configuration in any way.

What the Google Analytics integration actually does

You sign in with Google and grant read access. Creaiter then lists the GA4 properties that account can see, so you pick the right one instead of hoping a tool guessed correctly. If you manage several properties, that picker matters more than it sounds.

From there, Creaiter can pull the standard traffic picture for a page or for the property as a whole: page views, sessions, active users, average session duration and bounce rate. It can also compare a current window against the one before it, per page, which is the view that answers the question people actually ask, which is whether something is going up or down.

  • Sign in with Google, pick which GA4 property to read
  • Page views, sessions, active users, average session duration and bounce rate
  • Per page reporting tied to the URLs you published through Creaiter
  • Current window against the previous window, so a drop is visible as a drop
  • A nightly rollup so history exists instead of only whatever you last looked at

How to connect Google Analytics

There is no measurement ID to hunt for and no code snippet to paste. The connection is a Google sign-in and a permission grant, and you can withdraw it from your Google account at any time.

  • In Creaiter, open Settings, then Integrations
  • Choose the Google Analytics card and sign in with Google
  • Grant read access when Google asks
  • Pick the GA4 property you want Creaiter to read
  • Confirm the property name matches the site you publish to
  • Publish or link at least one page, since page level reporting needs a live URL to report on

Honest numbers, including when they are incomplete

Analytics APIs return a maximum number of rows per request. A busy site can exceed that in a single window, and a total built from a capped list is a sample wearing the word total. Most tools present it anyway.

Creaiter states when a report came back capped, so a partial answer reads as a partial answer. Same principle applies when a read fails outright: a failed read says it failed rather than rendering a confident zero. A zero and a broken connection look identical on a dashboard, and only one of them is worth panicking about.

What day to day looks like

You publish a piece through Creaiter. A week later you ask the chat how it did, and the answer comes back from your own GA4 data, attached to the piece you already know by name.

Because Creaiter also stores a nightly rollup, the picture builds over time rather than resetting to whatever the API returns today. That is what turns analytics from a thing you check when worried into something that quietly accumulates.

What the Google Analytics integration does not do

This is a reading integration. Everything below sits outside it.

  • It does not install Google Analytics on your site, or add tags, or edit any tracking code
  • It does not create, configure, or modify a GA4 property, and it changes nothing in your Google Analytics account
  • It does not read older Universal Analytics properties. GA4 is what it reads
  • It does not report ad spend, because Creaiter does not run paid advertising on any network
  • It is not a sales CRM, so it will not tie a session to a deal in your pipeline
  • It does not audit backlinks or referring domains

Before you connect Google Analytics

  1. 01Google Analytics 4 is already installed and collecting on your site
  2. 02You can sign in with a Google account that has access to the property
  3. 03You know which property is the right one if the account can see several
  4. 04The pages you want reported are actually live at public URLs
  5. 05You are comfortable granting read access to that Google account
  6. 06You know who on your team should hold the connection, since it is tied to a Google sign-in
  7. 07You have realistic expectations for a brand new site, where there may be almost no data yet

Creaiter fits if

  • Teams that publish through Creaiter and want the performance of those exact pages
  • Marketers who own GA4 but never open it because the report takes too long to build
  • Small teams with no analyst, who need the trend rather than a custom exploration
  • Anyone who wants to be told when a number is incomplete instead of guessing

Look elsewhere if

  • Sites with no Google Analytics installed, since Creaiter reads GA4 and does not set it up
  • Anyone still on older Universal Analytics properties rather than GA4
  • Teams that need ad platform spend and return reporting, because Creaiter does not run paid ads
  • Teams that need revenue attribution wired into a sales CRM, which Creaiter is not
  • Anyone whose real question is about backlinks and referring domains, which Creaiter does not audit

Common questions

How do I connect it, and do I need my measurement ID?

You do not need the measurement ID. Open Settings, then Integrations, choose Google Analytics, sign in with Google, grant read access, and pick the GA4 property. That is the whole setup, and there is no code to add to your site.

What happens if the connection breaks or the token expires?

Creaiter says the read failed and why, rather than showing zeros. Access tokens are refreshed automatically in normal operation, so the usual reasons for a real break are access being revoked in your Google account or the signed-in user losing permission on the property. Reconnecting from Settings restores it.

Can Creaiter change anything in my Google Analytics account?

No. The integration reads. It does not create properties, edit configuration, add tags, or write data of any kind into Google Analytics.

Does connecting analytics cost anything?

No. Google Analytics 4 is free from Google, and Creaiter is in free early access right now: the whole product, no card. Paid tiers at 29 dollars for Pro and 99 dollars for Business are planned and are not purchasable yet.
