Glossary / Listicle
What is Listicle?
A listicle is an article built as a numbered list, like nine subject lines that work. The format promises a clear scope and easy scanning.
The number in the title tells the reader exactly what they are getting and roughly how long it will take. That is why the format keeps working. It is a promise about effort.
The weakness is padding. A list of fifteen items where six are real and nine are filler wastes the reader's time, and it shows. Publish the six.
Give each item enough substance to stand alone: what it is, why it works, and an example. A list of one-line bullets reads like a table of contents for an article you did not write.
