What is Press release?
A press release is a short, factual announcement written for journalists, covering news such as a launch, a funding round, or a new location.
The format is plain on purpose. A headline that states the news, a first paragraph with who, what, when, where, and why it matters, then details, a quote, and contact information.
Journalists get a lot of these. What earns a reply is real news plus a reason their readers would care. A new website page is not news. A new location that adds jobs in their town might be.
Send it to specific reporters who cover your beat instead of blasting a wire service and hoping. One well-targeted email beats five hundred untargeted ones.
